PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly recognize an obstacle in an eye direction of a driver, based on a pick-up image in the front of a vehicle. SOLUTION: In order to detect the obstacle in the eye direction of the driver from the pick-up image in the front of the vehicle and indicate a picture of the obstacle, the vehicular image pick-up device comprises a projector 2, a driver image pick-up camera 3 shooting the driver, an eye direction detecting ECU 4 detecting the eye direction of the driver, a front image pick-up camera 5 shooting a front side of the vehicle, a front side obstacle detecting ECU 6 detecting the obstacle in front of the vehicle, and a controlling ECU 7 controlling the front side image pick-up camera 5 and the projector 2. The controlling ECU 7 carries out photometry position control instructing a photometry part to the front side image pick-up camera 5 and brightness adjusting control adjusting the brightness of an image pick-up picture or an obstacle picture to make the projector 2 project the obstacle picture based on eye direction information outputted from the eye direction detecting ECU 4 and obstacle image and position information outputted from the front side obstacle detecting ECU 6.
