PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost carbonization system capable of stabilizing the amount of a generated gas by uniforming the carbonization conditions. SOLUTION: The carbonization system comprises charging a pelletized organic raw material A into a carbonization furnace 3 kept at a low oxygen atmosphere by a raw material feeding apparatus 2 and recovering carbonization products C and dry distillation gases B by heating. In the system the raw material feeding apparatus 2 is constituted of a hopper 101 having a fixed quantity feeding screw 102 on the bottom, a shut-off mechanism 103 which, adjacently installed to the exit side of this hopper 101, sends out the raw material supplied from the screw 102 in the condition that the inflow of the outside air is shut off, and a charging screw 104 which charges the raw material sent from the shut-off mechanism 103 into the carbonization furnace 3.
