The compositions of the present invention relate to improved shampoo compositions having from about 5 to about 50 wt.% of a detersive surfactant composition comprising at least one anionic surfactant, from about 0.1 to about 20 wt.% amine oxide, and from about 0.01 to about 5 wt.% cationic polymer, where the molar ratio of anionic surfactant to amine oxide is about 2:1 to about 40:1. The compositions of the present invention also relate to improved shampoo compositions having from about 5 to about 50 wt.% of a detersive surfactant composition, from about 0.1 to about 20 wt.% amine oxide, from about 0.01 to about 5 wt.% cationic polymer, and from about 0.1 to 10 wt.% soil penetration agent.
