<p>[OBJECT] A metal mounting device capable of automatically performing bearing metal mounting even if connecting rods tilt in different directions. [CONSTITUTION] When large end sections (3) of connecting rods (1) tilt relative to a crankcase (19) about the axis of a piston pin to either of both sides of the axis, a metal mounting device (20) is moved to above a connecting rod (1) and an attitude sensor (24) is caused to detect on which side the large end section (3) is. Then, the metal mounting device (20) is moved to the side where the large end section (3) is, the device (20) is lowered, and a clamp arm (25) is made to support the large end section (3). Then, the metal mounting device (20) is positioned directly above the connecting rod (1) and is caused to erect the connecting rod (1). In this state, bearing metal held by a metal catch section (30) is pressed down to mount the metal in a metal mounting depression (8).</p> |
