<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein braking force generated by using an engine for braking becomes ineffective when starting the engine during coast running of a hybrid vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: When cranking the engine 1 during coast running for braking wheels 2 by regenerative torque of a motor/generator 5 by selecting electric running mode, braking by the regenerative torque is compensated by a mechanical brake 23 for releasing a second clutch 7 once and braking the wheels 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
