<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit speech data which is improved in a compression rate by carrying out predictive coding of a multi-channel speech signal. <P>SOLUTION: An adder circuit 1a computes sum signals (L+R) of stereophonic two channel signals L and R and a subtraction circuit 1b computes the difference signal (L-R). Difference computing circuits 11D1 and 11D2 compute differencesΔ(L+R) andΔ(L-R) of this time and the previous time. Predictive coding circuits (15D1, 15D2, 16D1 and 16D2) compute a plurality of predictive values of the differencesΔ(L+R) andΔ(L-R), compute each predictive residual of the plurality of predictive values and the differencesΔ(L+R) andΔ(L-R), packetize the predictive coded data by selecting a minimum predictive residual or the like, and then transmit the data through a prescribed communication line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
