PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent submerging and element crack of an air fuel ratio sensor due to condensate in an exhaust gas passage.
SOLUTION: A turbine 2 of a turbocharger 1 is arranged on the exhaust gas passage, and the air fuel ratio sensor 19 is arranged in a downstream side of the turbine 2 to be adjacent to the turbine 2. An element part 25 of the air fuel ratio sensor 19 is positioned on or in the vicinity of an axial center C line of an exhaust port 4 of the turbine 2. Just behind the exhaust port 4 of the turbine 2, a turning flow of exhaust gas in a same direction as a rotating direction of a turbine wheel 5 is generated, and condensate in the exhaust gas is centrifuged by the exhaust gas turning flow. Virtually, no condensate is present in the vicinity of the axial center line of the exhaust port 4, and in that position, exhaust gas is contacted with the element part 25. Therefore, submerging and element cracking of the element part 25 can be prevented.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
|
