PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner reduced in cost by attaining the miniaturization and simplification of a die for a guard net. SOLUTION: The back face of an indoor unit 10 provided with a heat exchanger 12 therein is provided with the guard net 13 for protecting the back face of the heat exchanger 12. The guard net 13 is composed of a plurality of vertical rails 15 and lateral rails 16 formed by extrusion-molding synthetic resin and intersecting in a grated shape, and fixtures 17 for fixing the intersecting parts 18 of the vertical rails 15 and the lateral rails 16. A die for molding the vertical rails 15 and the lateral rails 16 requires only a small mouthpiece for extrusion molding, and a molding die for the fixture 17 can also be miniaturized. Molding can thereby be performed by using inexpensive dies compared with a conventional large-sized molding die for the guard net integrally formed with the vertical rails 15 and the lateral rails 16, and an expensive die cost can be suppressed.
