PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of more suitably controlling the torque of the internal combustion engine in acceleration than a conventional device, and quickly raising the torque while suppressing acceleration shocks generated by the acceleration. SOLUTION: In the control device for the internal combustion engine provided with a throttle valve 13 for adjusting a suction amount of air affecting the torque of the internal combustion engine 1, when acceleration is required for the internal combustion engine 1, a torque slope being a variation amount of the torque of the internal combustion engine per unit time during acceleration is presumed based on the operation state of the internal combustion engine before the acceleration, and the action of the throttle valve 13 at the acceleration of the internal combustion engine is controlled based on a predicted torque slope.
