PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin composition exhibiting excellent laser welding properties and a molded article strongly bonded by laser welding. SOLUTION: The black polyester resin composition for laser welding comprises (a) 100 pts.wt. of a polyester resin and, incorporated therewith, (b) 0-100 pts.wt. of a reinforcing filler, (c) 0.01-1 pt.wt. of a purple colorant and (d) 0.01-5 pts.wt. of a compound having a salicylic amide structure.
