1284338 Apparatus for netting food products; net package L SARTORE and A SARTORE 20 April 1970 [29 April 1969] 18784/70 Headings B8C and B8M Apparatus for compactly loading tubular elastic netting 10, 11 on a stuffing horn 14 comprises a plurality of spring urged loading hooks 21 pivotally mounted on a loading head 20 which circumferentially surrounds the horn 14 and is guided for vertical movement on guide rods 4 which also support a plate 6 carrying a roll 9 of the netting. The horn 14 is loaded by vertically oscillating the head 20 using a pair of handles (19, Fig. 1), the hooks 21 pulling the netting on downward movement of the head 20, but slipping over the netting when the head 20 is raised. Compression springs 25 situated in radial bores 26 urge the hooks 21 into contact with the horn 14. Alternatively a torsion spring (30, Fig. 6, not shown) which engages the loading head 20 and a channel member (31) on each hook 21 can be used, or the loading head 20 may have a circumferential groove (29, Fig. 5, not shown) in which an annular coil spring (28) under tension is housed, this spring (28) engaging the outer edges of the hooks 21. The horn 14 is closed by a detachable cap 13 and is detachably secured to a platform 2 by means of a knob (17, Fig. 7, not shown) which is suspended from the cap 13 by a coil spring (15) and is engaged in a slot (18) in the platform 2. The horn 14 is removed when the netting has been placed thereon, and is then attached to an apparatus in which meat to be netted is pushed through the horn into the netting. |
