摘要 A printing device includes a light input unit that inputs light fluxes emitted from a light source to a measurement-target surface of a print medium on which an image is printed at a predetermined incidence angle, an image pickup unit that picks up an image of the measurement-target surface by collecting reflection light fluxes, which are reflected from the measurement-target surface of the print medium within a predetermined range of reflection angles, for the light fluxes input by the light input unit, receiving the collected light fluxes using a plurality of light receiving elements, and performing a photoelectric conversion process for the light fluxes received by the plurality of light receiving elements, and a measurement-target surface status value calculating unit that calculates a status value of the measurement-target surface representing a status relating to appropriateness or inappropriateness of the measurement-target surface of the print medium for printing based on image data having luminance information of the image picked up by the image pickup unit.
