<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a compound containing an imino group or a carbonyl group in an excellent atom efficiency by inserting a polarized unsaturated bond to a carbon-hydrogen bond of imine or ketone and forming a new carbon-carbon bond. <P>SOLUTION: A carbon-hydrogen bond at the β position of an imine or ketone is activated by a transition metal catalyst such as a manganese compound etc., a polarized unsaturated bond such as a carbonyl group is inserted into the bond and the resulting product is reacted with a compound protecting a hydroxy group, an amino group or a thiol group to give a protected alcohol, amine or thiol. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
