<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide radiation curing composition for an optical recording medium protective layer used for a protective layer of the optical recording medium and capable of giving a cured product suppressing corrosion of a metal layer such as a recording layer made of silver or a silver alloy even under high temperature and high humidity while expected physical properties of transparency, surface hardness, interlayer adhesion, mechanical strength, deformation properties and the like are maintained, and also to provide the optical recording medium having the cured product layer of the curing composition as the protective layer. <P>SOLUTION: The radiation curing composition for an optical recording medium protective layer containing at least (A) a urethane (meth)acrylate compound, (B) a (meth)acrylate compound other than (A) the urethane (meth)acrylate compound, and (C) a polymerization initiator, has ≤20 ppm chlorine atom content, ≤20 ppm sulfur atom content and ≤10 ppm sodium atom content.
