<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a part mounting method and part mounting system capable of efficiently performing mounting operation after a facility condition is changed due to failure or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The part mounting system comprises a unit mounting device which performs mounting operation according to mounting data, and a central control device connected to it. The central control device comprises a first data changing means 52 which, if failure of a head or the like occurs at any of the unit mounting devices, changes mounting data so that change in arrangement of a feeder decreases when performing mounting process thereafter, a second data changing means 53 which changes mounting data so that the time required for mounting cycle is shortened as the entire system, and a calculation means 51 which simulates the time required for mounting process thereafter, including the time required for arrangement change of a feeder, based on the data, and then specifies a shorter one.
