PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder for preventing the paper tip from hitching on an air blowout port and shutter plates, even if the paper tip is not completely sucked to a suction carrying means. SOLUTION: Since the right and left opening edges of the air blowout port and the shutter plates are conventionally vertically formed with respect to the paper carrying direction, in the light of hitching the hanging-down paper tip without being sufficiently sucked to the suction carrying means, the shutter plates 3 and 10 are also inclined along an inclined opening surface when necessary while inclining an opening surface of the air blowout part 1 in the advancing direction of paper, and thereby, can be advanced without hitching even if the paper tip contacts.
