An apparatus and a method for swapping a page in a gateway are provided to improve the performance of a gateway by reducing a CPU load according to page swapping in the gateway. A page unit(150) includes a plurality of pages storing communication network connection information. When a communication network connection message is received from an external source, a first processor(131) stores new communication network connection information according to the received communication network connection message in a standby page among the pages. A page swapping unit(170) selects an active page from among the pages, and applies communication network connection information stored in the active page to a switching device(190). A second processor(133) controls the page swapping unit to select the standby page as a new active page at every predetermined certain period.
