An apparatus for removing a coating layer of strips is provided to prevent safety accidents and reduce working time and working manpower by preventing an operator from directly performing an operation of removing a coating layer of weldments. An apparatus for removing a coating layer of strips comprises: a frame(40) fixed to a front side of a welding machine for welding a preceding strip and a following strip to join the preceding strip with the following strip; and a coating layer removing unit installed on the frame to remove a coating layer formed on the weldments of the strips by spraying a coating layer removing solution onto weldments of the strips. The coating layer removing unit includes: a main pipe(62) mounted on the frame and connected to a supply pipe(30); a spray part(70) formed on the main pipe; a vertical cylinder(50) installed between the frame and the main pipe; and an elastic pipe for connecting the main pipe and the supply pipe. The spray part includes spray housings(72), blocking rings(74), blocking members(80), nozzle dust collecting pipes(76), and a blocking plate(90).
