An optical information processing apparatus and an optical information processing method using the same are provided to reduce damage to a storage medium by decreasing hot spots focused on the storage medium. An optical information processing apparatus comprises a light source(100), a beam splitter, a diffusion plate(150), a beam modulator(190), a pair of lenses, and a fourier transform lens. The beam splitter separates a light emitted from the light source into a signal beam and a reference beam. The diffusion plate disperses the signal beam. The beam splitter loads data on the diffused signal beam. The pair of lenses focus the diffused signal beam on the beam modulator, and adjusts a diffusion angle of the diffusion plate. The fourier transform lens focuses the signal beam wherein data is loaded by the beam modulator on a storage medium.
