The present invention relates to a milling device comprising a roll mill (19) having a plurality of rolls (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) for milling a mass (22), surface imaging means (25, 32) for automatic imaging a surface on at least one of said rolls (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and for generating a corresponding surface image (26). Said surface imaging means (25, 32) is adapted for simultaneous scanning the entire working width of at least one roll (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). The milling device further comprises image processing means (27) automatic image (26) surface processing means, image (26) surface automatic analysis means, and means for automatic genertating a signal representing the state of the entire working width of at least one roll (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). The invention further relates to a method for setting operational parameters of the above-described roll mill (19) as well as to an analysis method of the condition of a roll (5) thereof. |
