APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PLAZMA DISPLAY PANEL

A plasma display panel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve image quality of the PDP(Plasma Display Panel) by improving discharge reliability during address and sustain discharges. A plasma display panel includes upper and lower substrates, which are bonded to each other with a barrier rib between them. The upper substrate includes plural electrodes, a dielectric layer(320), and a protective film(310). The electrodes are formed on a front substrate to initiate and sustain discharges. The dielectric layer is formed on the front substrate, which includes the electrodes. The protective film is formed on the dielectric layer. The protective film includes plural uniform-crystal layers(311). The uniform-crystal layer is made of MgO. A thickness of the uniform-crystal layer is smaller than 250 nm.
