An apparatus and a method for fixing a connector to a wiring substrate are provided to improve productivity while lowering the defect rate by fixing the connector to the wiring substrate just after the connector is fabricated. An apparatus(1) for fixing a connector to a wiring substrate comprises a body(10) having a discharge hole(9), a cutting unit(13), and a pressing unit(14). The cutting unit includes a guide member provided at one side of the body to guide a wire(W) released from a winding drum, a cutter member(4) which is moved toward the discharge hole by a movable member(2), and a support member(12) for adjusting the length of the wire. The pressing unit includes a pressing rod(8) for fixing the connector to a precise position on the wiring substrate, and a cylinder for moving the pressing rod up and down. |
