The conveyer has at least one conveyor belt (1) that can move ion the transport direction, whereby asparagus stems (3) can be placed on the conveyor belt, a drive arrangement for moving the belt and a control arrangement for the drive arrangement. The control and/or drive arrangements are configured so that the movement of the belt in the feed direction can be superimposed with as further movement of the belt. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an asparagus sorter (B) and a method of operating an asparagus sorter.
