An integral bicycle lock 100, commonly known as a D-lock, comprises a U-bar having a first, seatpost limb 22, a second limb 24 and a base 26, and a cross piece 70 adapted to conned the free ends of the limbs and secure them together with a key-releasable lock 82. The seatpost limb 22 is adapted to form the seatpost of a bicycle by being formed with a straight section of diameter appropriate to slide in the seat tube of the frame of a bicycle for which the lock is intended to be used, and said base is adapted for connection of a bicycle seat. The base is preferably adapted by having an integral yoke 52 to which the rails of a bicycle seat may be fitted and adjusted. This means that the user does not need to carry a separate lock as the lock is in effect part of the bicycle. |
