An apparatus for charging a battery, a control method thereof, and a charge controlling apparatus are provided to improve user's convenience and reduce a production cost by not carrying an external charger to charge the battery. An apparatus for charging a battery(20) includes an adaptor(10) and a control unit(30). The adaptor charges the battery by converting external power into a voltage level corresponding to the battery. The control unit checks a charge state of the battery by communicating with the battery and controls the adaptor to charge the battery based on the checked result. The adaptor includes a voltage conversion unit(15) for converting the external power into the predetermined voltage level.
