<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the overcurrent resistance of a switching element 37 in a power regenerative converter smaller than that of a circulating diode provided for each switching element 37. <P>SOLUTION: The power regenerative converter comprises a voltage detecting means, a current detecting means for detecting the current of a commercial power source side, a power source voltage phase detecting means, a switching controller, a power regeneration deciding means for deciding the operating state of whether the power drive or the regenerative drive is used based on output current information and DC voltage information by estimating the output current information using the current detecting means and a switching pattern, and an overcurrent protecting means for changing power and a regenerative overcurrent detecting level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
