PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle capable of reducing force required for steering during stationary steering. SOLUTION: The steering device for the vehicle comprises right and left steering wheel supporting members 31R, 31L rockably supported around vertical shafts SR, SL corresponding to a vehicle body 32 so as to make right and left steering wheels 13R, 13L roll oppositely each other, a driving member34 rocking the steering wheel supporting members 31R, 31L, a lock mechanism 36 capable of regulating rocking of the steering wheel supporting members 31R, 31L, and a controlling portion 18 controlling the driving member 34 and the lock mechanism 36. The controlling portion 18 regulates the rocking of the steering wheel supporting members 31R, 31L by the lock mechanism 36 according to starting of stationary steering, then, makes the steering wheels on the steering inside roll backward and the steering wheels on the steering outside roll forward, by the driving member 34.
