APPARATUS, METHOD, AND PROGRAM FOR RESTORING IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform image restoration using a Wiener filter capable of ensuring sharpness while suppressing ringing.

SOLUTION: An image restoration apparatus includes: a dot spreading function estimating means (S7) for estimating a dot spreading function of the wiener filter on the basis of vibration detection information contained in deteriorated image information; an image restoring means (S8) for obtaining the predetermined number of restored image information items using the estimated dot spreading function and the predetermined number of different approximation constantsΓ; high-ringing region image restoring means (S9-S12) for generating final restored image information of a high-ringing region by extracting the high-ringing region wherein ringing easily occurs, for each of the predetermined number of restored image information items and selecting a first optimum approximation constantΓin the high-ringing region; and a low-ringing region image restoring means (S14) for generating final restored image information in a low-ringing region by selecting a second optimal approximation constantΓin the low-ringing region other than the high-ringing region.
