PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems with the conventional display apparatus that the light emission colors of a plurality of light sources ought to be selectively made to emit light and display colors respectively vary with every display pattern and there is restriction that the difference display patterns cannot be displayed in the same color, and also, a light source is required to be arranged behind the display pattern mask and the thickness of a back light source is necessary for the display apparatus and the installation to a panel of a thin type is inadequate. SOLUTION: The optical apparatus comprises a light transmission plate of a polygonal shape having a side face as an incident surface and a top surface as a light exit surface, one reflection surface which consists of a reflection recessed part of a triangular prism shape formed to the light guide plate, and in which the reflection recessed part of the triangular prism shape reflects the incident light from the light incident surface of the light guide plate approximately at right angles to the light exit surface, and three transmission surfaces which approximately transmit the incident light from the light incident surface.
