摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display device of an IPS mode wherein response speed can be increased and a multi domain can be attained by generating a lateral electric field even in a direction from an ON state to an OFF state. SOLUTION: First to fourth point electrodes A to D formed for every sub pixel and disposed nearly in a lattice shape are provided on an array substrate. When an initial alignment direction of a liquid crystal molecule is defined as a direction V, a first electrode array of the first and the second point electrodes A and B and a second electrode array of the third and the fourth point electrodes C and D are disposed to be inclined by an inclination angleθ1 in the direction V and a third electrode array of the first and the third point electrodes A and C and a fourth electrode array of the second and the fourth point electrodes B and D are disposed to be inclined by an inclination angleθ2 in the direction V. The point electrodes of the first and the second electrode arrays are turned on and a lateral electric field E1 is generated to drive a liquid crystal in a first frame and the point electrodes of the third and the fourth electrode arrays are turned on and a lateral electric field E2 is generated to drive the liquid crystal in the second frame.
