PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump and a dish washer capable of properly draining waste water, without sucking air in a pump room in a drain mode. SOLUTION: This pump is operated in two modes composed of a circulating mode of supplying liquid to a circulating system flow passage including an air layer and the drain mode of supplying the liquid of the circulating system flow passage to a drain system flow passage, and is characterized in that in the circulating mode, an impeller normally rotates, and supplies the liquid flowing in the pump room to the circulating system flow passage, and in the drain mode, the impeller reverses, and supplies the liquid flowing in the pump room to the drain system flow passage, but also supplies a part of the liquid flowing in its pump room to the circulating system flow passage. More concretely, liquid guides 26 and 20a1 are arranged in a casing 6 for guiding the liquid to circulating outflow parts 18 and 20 against a flow of the liquid of the pump room in the drain mode.
