PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize/lighten a shaft-driving type swing arm as much as possible. SOLUTION: A drive shaft 15 is housed in a right arm part 20 of the swing arm 10 and its front end is connected to an output shaft 17 by a universal joint 16. A pivot pipe 22 is provided at a position where the center A of the pivot pipe 22 is below and behind the center B of the universal joint 16. A front end opening part 28 projects forward of the pivot pipe 22. A shaft bearing span is made to be sufficient by non-intersecting form. An opening diameter of a front part of the right arm part 20 is made smaller by arranging the center B of the largest diameter of the universal joint 16 forward of the center A of the pivot shaft.
