<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing device wherein a seal member has a longer life and improved mud water preventing performance for sealing between an inward member and an outward member. <P>SOLUTION: The seal member 5 has radial lips 52, 53 in sliding contact with the outer periphery of the inward member 1 toward its radial inside, and a side lip 54 in sliding contact with a wheel mounting flange 11b of the inward member 1 toward its radial outside a bearing beyond the radial lips 52, 53. It also has a second side lip 55 in sliding contact with the wheel mounting flange 11b toward its radial outside inside the bearing beyond the side lip 54. Grease is held in a pocket 56 formed by the side lip 54 and the second side lip 55. The grease is supplied from the pocket 56 to the side lip 54 over a long time to secure lubricity of the side slip 54 for a long period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
