PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To photograph a couple the moment they kiss each other in a wedding ceremony or the like. SOLUTION: When a release button 15 is pressed down (step S41), whether there are a plurality of faces detected by a face detection circuit 22 is determined (step S43). When a plurality of faces are detected, whether there is a combination of faces in which ratios of face sizes are 100±20% is determined (step S44). When there is a combination of faces in which the ratios of face sizes are 100±20%, a face distance calculation circuit 23 calculates a distance between the faces and determines whether the distance is smaller than 1% of the sizes of the faces (step S45). When the distance between the faces is smaller than 1% of the sizes of the faces, an exposure start signal is outputted (step S46).
