PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical defensive, particularly prevention, suppression or inhibition of recurrence of prostatic cancer by administration of an effective dose of the chemical defensive agent, toremifene and their analogues or metabolites to subjects. SOLUTION: A safe and effective method for suppression or inhibition of a latent prostatic cancer is provided. This is particularly useful for high onset risk subjects of prostatic cancer, for example, a benign prostatic hypertrophy, a prostatic intraepithelial neogenesis (PIN) or those with extraordinarily high concentration of circulatory prostatic specific antibody (PSA) or having familial history of prostatic cancer.
