PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a variable valve train, appropriately determining that a rotational angle to be detected deviates from an actual rotational angle when detecting the rotational angle of a motor driving the variable valve train. SOLUTION: When electric power is not supplied to the control device for the motor (No in S400) and an engine speed NE is higher than a determining value A (YES in S410), operation of a timer is started (S420). Then, when a timer value T is determining time B or more (S430), a deviation determining flag EF is set to "1", and it is determined that the rotational angle to be detected deviates from the actual rotational angle.
