PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a joint capable of rotating a water pipe even in a state of internal pressure being applied into the connected water pipe. SOLUTION: The joint 100 for the water pipe made of synthetic resin comprises a joint body 21 having an inner cylinder 22, and an outer cylinder 10 formed on the outer peripheral side of the inner cylinder 22. The end of the water pipe made of flexible synthetic resin such as crosslinked polyethylene or polybutene is inserted between the inner cylinder 22 and the outer cylinder 10. An annular cut-off seal 23 brought into close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the water pipe is fitted to the outer periphery of the inner cylinder 22, and an annular locking ring 24 circumferentially rotatable around the inner cylinder 22 as a shaft together with the water pipe is inserted outside the inner cylinder 22 in a state of a plurality of claws 24a biting into the inner peripheral surface of the water pipe. The outer cylinder 10 has, at its end, an engaging part 12a slidably engaged with an engaged part 22d of the joint body 21, and a portion, facing at least either the cut-off seal 23 or the locking ring 24, of the outer cylinder 10 is provided to be circumferentially rotatable with respect to the joint body 21.
