PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely detect the phase of a crankshaft 20 and a movable scroll 31 when a fixed scroll 34 is positioned by moving it in an X-axis direction and a Y-axis direction when assembling a scroll fluid machine. SOLUTION: A detection part for detecting phase is formed on the movable scroll 31 and a cutout through which the detection part can be observed from an outside is formed on the fixed scroll. Then, a sensor part 92 which can move to a position facing the cutout of the fixed scroll is provided, and the positioning device is provided with a phase detection mechanism 90 detecting phase of the movable scroll 31 based on position change of the detection part of the movable scroll 31 accompanying rotation of the crankshaft 20.
