PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe capable of swinging at a high speed by reducing a time required for acceleration and deceleration in the swinging operation of ultrasonic transducers. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic probe 1 is provided with an ultrasonic transducer group 2 fixed to a swinging mechanism 3, a motor 6 for swinging the swinging mechanism 3, and compression springs 8a and 8b for energizing the swinging mechanism 3 in the swinging direction. When the swinging mechanism 3 abuts on the compression springs 8a and 8b, a restoring force is applied to the swinging mechanism 3. The compression springs 8a and 8b are installed at the ends of the swinging range of the ultrasonic transducer group 2, so that the restoring force assists the acceleration and deceleration of the ultrasonic transducer group 2.
