PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair which can stably support a seat or the like, can reduce the occupied space of a height adjusting mechanism and has simple structure and is manufactured at a low cost. SOLUTION: The lower ends of links 11 and 12 in the almost same direction are pivoted to the respective front and rear parts of a pair of left and right base legs 6 by a shaft 13 in left and right directions, the upper ends of the links 11 and 12 are pivoted to the lower surface of a seat receiving frame 2 by a shaft 19 in the left and right directions, and the seat receiving frame 2 is provided with a turning means 42 for turning the link 12.
