Preparation of penicillanic acids

6-(1-Aminocycloalkylcarboxamido)penicillanic acids: (where n = 2 or 3 and m = 1/2 to 0) are prepared by contacting the hydrated form of the compound with methanol as a dehydration agent, at -10 degrees C to reflux temperature of the solvent with up to 75 % water or, if water merely present, at -10 to 35 degrees C and separating and drying the insoluble crystals.
