<p>Oil is removed from emulsions with water by mixing the emulsion with a demulsifier to break the emulsion e.g., CaCl2 and with an oil absorbent which at least partly consists of CaCO3 in an amount e.g., 0.3-3 kg./kg. oil. The absorbent is then separated off together with absorbed oil. The method is used to remove oil from spent lubricating oil e.g., after drilling, sawing etc., before disposal.</p> |
