SOFT START CIRCUIT FOR PROTECTING BATTERY AND BATTERY PACK HAVING THE SAME

A soft start circuit for protecting a battery and a battery pack having the same are provided to suppress damage of a secondary battery and a load circuit by limiting an initial charge and discharge current according to connection of the secondary battery and a charging and discharging circuit with a constant current. A soft start circuit(300) for protecting a battery includes a DFET(Discharge Field Effect Transistor)(310) and a switching element driving unit(330). The DEFT limits an output of a discharge current with a constant current. The switching driving unit is electrically connected between the DEFT and a secondary battery(100) to control the operation of the DEFT. The switching element drive unit outputs a sense voltage according to sense of the discharge current into an amplified voltage, compares the amplified voltage with a reference voltage, controls operation of the DFET to vary resistance of the DFET, and negative-feedbacks the output-limited discharge current by the DFET.
