IMAGE FORMING DEVICE, HOST DEVICE AND DIRECT PRINTING CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF

An image forming device, a host device connected to the same, and a direct printing control method thereof are provided to enable a user to perform direct printing promptly without checking direct printing files one by one by displaying direct printing selection of the file to be printed by the user. An interface unit(110) receives a direct printing file type from printers(200,200-1~200-3). A controller(120) provides a popup menu for selecting a direct printing option when a file corresponding to the direct printing file type is selected among the stored files. A storage unit(130) stores the direct printing file type. The controller requests transfer of the file type to the printer when connection with the printer is detected, and stores the received file type to the storage unit. A popup menu generator(150) generates the popup menu and a display unit(160) displays the generated popup menu. The controller enables the popup menu generator and the display unit to generate/display the direct printing option in a default popup menu of the selected file when the file corresponding to the direct printing file type is selected. The popup menu includes the direct popup menu and a sub menu displaying the direct printing printers.
