The present invention relates to method of forming an edging profile or a profiled sealing tube made of polymer material on a composite pane (1), wherein the method comprises contacting a marginal or edge surface (3) of the pane (1) with a molding bed (4, 5) the forming surface (4) of which forms a projection fitting over the edge of the pane (1) wherein the polymer material is applied to at least a portion of the composite pane surface (3) periphery disposed at the top so that there is produced a profiled sealing tube with defined external dimensions, said sealing tube passing smoothly away onto the composite pane (1) bottom surface, said sealing tube forming a projection exceeding the periphery of the composite pane (1) and being restricted by the forming surface (4) of the molding bed (4, 5), whereby said profiled sealing tube covers a front face (6) protruding from the molding bed (4, 5). According to the invention, means are used that prevent adhesion of the profiled sealing tube to said composite pane (1) front face (6) protruding from the molding bed (4, 5). Said adhesion-preventing means can be represented by a mask that is pressed during application of the polymer material to the front face that is to remain free, and that is removed after hardening of the profiled sealing tube.
