An image-forming apparatus and a method for printing a document are provided to delete removal patterns on a scanned document, thereby directly printing the document without performing a work for deleting the removal patterns through a separate program. A scanning unit(110) scans a document. A printing unit(150) prints the scanned document data. A determining unit(130) determines whether there are removal patterns on the scanned document. If there are removal patterns in the scanned document, a controlling unit(140) controls the printing unit such that regions of the removal patterns are deleted on the scanned document. When the regions of the removal patterns are deleted, the controlling unit controls the printing unit such that data of the other regions except the deleted regions are connected on the scanned document. An input unit(120) receives a user command to perform a removing function by which a region where a removing pattern exists is deleted when a scanned document is printed out.
