PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of forcedly draining water by a drainage pump. SOLUTION: This washing machine includes the drainage pump 17 disposed in a drain route on the downstream side of a drain valve 16, a drain hose 18 connected to the drain route for draining water outside an outer box 1, and a control circuit 12 for controlling the drain valve 16 and the drain pump 17; and is so constituted that, when a water level is not lowered after the lapse of a prescribed time (10 seconds) in a draining process executed by opening the drain valve 16 based on an opening control circuit 12.
