The method involves reading out a three dimensional (3D) image data set from initialized 3D image data set of a patient's heart. The read data set is assigned to an electrocardiogram phase of the patient, and an electrocardiogram is recorded from the read data set during obtaining a two dimensional (2D) image of the heart. Another electrocardiogram phase of the patient determined during recording the image is assigned to a current 2D image. The electrocardiogram phase assigned to the current 2D image is assigned to a 2D image of the patient generated from the 3D image data set. |
