PURPOSE: A projector is provided to reduce the occupied volume of a color separator using a color belt as a color separator for separating white light provided from a light source. CONSTITUTION: A light source(10) offers light. The light from the light source is inputted through a light tunnel(11) and is totally reflected in the inner wall of the light tunnel. A color belt(12) splits the color of the light emitted from the light tunnel. An image element converts the light whose color is separated from the color belt into the transmitting light. A lens transmitting lens unit(16) enlarges the transmitting light provided from an image element.
