Bilge valves for small boats

A valve for controlling a flow of water from outside a floating boat into or out of a bilge within the boat, is disclosed. The valve comprises inner and outer sealably nested coaxial cylinders. Each cylinder has a side wall and at least one aperture in the side wall. Upon rotation of one of the cylinders by a control, operable from inside the boat, the aperture in the inner and outer cylinders are able to align to thereby open a passage from the exterior of the outer cylinder to the interior of the inner cylinder through· the apertures, or to misalign the apertures thereby closing the passage, where the passage is between the bilge and the water surrounding the boat.
